Plastic part examples: PTFE, POM, PE & acrylic
Choose the shaft, fitting or housing form closest to your component. Each example represents a separate part with its own material grade and acceptance requirements.
PTFE components and stepped shafts
Small components with holes, repeated intermediate forms and stepped shafts.

- Material specification
- PTFE. Specify the exact grade, fillers and stock form for the order. Specify solid PTFE, a coated substrate or a separate covering. Coated or covered parts need a substrate or core specification, thickness and bonding requirements.
- Drawing requirements
- Mating features, hole positions, working dimensions and stock form.
- Acceptance checks
- Mating dimensions and edge condition, under agreed measurement conditions.

POM gear teeth and hub details
Gear teeth, a raised hub and central bore.

- Material specification
- POM. Specify any required branded or filled grade.
- Drawing requirements
- Tooth specification, bore, hub, mating parts and material grade.
- Acceptance checks
- Gear-tooth and mating-fit checks, with agreed edge quality and dimensions.
Straight and curved PE guide strips

- Material specification
- PE components. Specify the exact polymer grade for the order.
- Drawing requirements
- Cross-section, length or curved path, mounting features and sliding surfaces.
- Acceptance checks
- Profile and fit checks, including dimensions and finish on sliding surfaces.
Acrylic components and viewing surfaces
Circular rimmed components and a separate rectangular form with recesses and holes.

- Material specification
- Acrylic. Specify the grade and required appearance or optical properties.
- Drawing requirements
- Shape, interfaces, viewing surfaces, cosmetic limits and handling requirements.
- Acceptance checks
- Dimensional and appearance criteria; an optical specification must be defined separately.
