Copper & Brass CNC Machining
We machine copper and brass contacts, connectors and fluid fittings. The electrical path, heat transfer or sealing duty determines the alloy, geometry and finish needed at each working surface.

Choose the alloy for its function
Electrical contacts need a usable current path. Heat-transfer components depend on contact with adjoining parts; fluid fittings depend on their threads and seals. The alloy and geometry need to suit the specific connection.
Read the connection features
Threads and working faces determine how the fitting connects to its mating part. The specification sets the alloy, contact or sealing requirements and any separate pressure-test methods and limits.

- An electrical contact or current-carrying part
- A high-conductivity copper grade, such as C11000
- Alloy, contact area, material condition and plating affect the electrical path. Specify the current requirement and assembled test conditions for the component.
- A heat-transfer part or mating thermal surface
- Material properties and the contacting faces
- Heat passes through both the part and its interfaces. Fit, contact area and any coating need to suit the assembly; thermal performance is confirmed by the agreed design and tests.
- A threaded connector or fluid fitting
- A machinable brass grade, where the application permits
- C36000 is a machining-oriented option. Fluid compatibility and material restrictions may rule it out; the thread, burr limits and any plating must also suit the finished connection.
Choose the alloy, standard and finish
Conductivity, machinability, corrosion exposure and material restrictions guide the copper or brass grade we review for your part. Plating or polishing must also preserve the contact, seal and dimensional requirements of the finished component.
| Material / scope | Specification | Finish / treatment | Confirm for this drawing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Copper | Examples include C11000, C10200 and C12000. | Polishing or compatible protective plating. | Identify contact areas and any electrical or thermal acceptance criteria. |
| Brass | Examples include C26000 and C36000. | Polishing or plating with protected interfaces. | Specify threads, seal surfaces and post-plating dimensions. |
| Other copper specifications | Specify the tellurium copper grade for review. | Finish reviewed for the exact alloy. | Include material restrictions, declarations and required records. |
C3600, C36000 and H62 are separate alloy designations. Specify the exact standard and grade for the order.
Material and finish checklistThreads, contacts and working interfaces

Threads, passages and mating faces
Stock dimensions, contact areas and passage access determine how a connector can be held and cut. Thread designation, engagement and burr limits define the mating connection, while the seal or contact faces provide the references for the adjoining part.
Plating and the final fit
Plating becomes part of the finished interface. Masking protects surfaces that need to stay untreated; fitted dimensions and contact, sealing and cosmetic requirements must refer to the final treatment state.
Metal part collectionDimensional checks and separate functional tests
Plating can affect threads and fitted contact surfaces. Thread gauges, burr limits and contact or sealing checks therefore need to match the final dimensions, with methods and records set for the order.

| Feature | Specify on the drawing | Agree before production |
|---|---|---|
| Alloy & restrictions | Exact alloy designation, standard and any material restrictions. | Confirm availability of requested declarations and material records. |
| Threads & sealing faces | Thread standard, engagement, seal geometry and internal passages. | Agree thread gauges, dimensional measurement methods and burr checks for contact or sealing surfaces. |
| Contact & plated surfaces | Contact area, plating specification and final dimensions. | Define the post-plating dimensional records. |
