CNC machining a 29-inch display housing

The broad display housing has recessed faces, slots and mounting features. Support beneath the panel matters during both cutting and measurement.

The 29-inch dimension refers to the display. Quote the enclosure's actual dimensions and machining envelope.

Support and access across the panel

The panel rests across the machine table with its internal face accessible beneath the spindle. We use the actual enclosure dimensions, support points and permitted clamp contact to plan tool reach and operation order.

  1. Review panel support

Broad or thin sections need support beneath the stock. Fixture contact must protect the visible surfaces and fitted interfaces.

  2. Plan tool access across the face

The cutter needs access to recesses, slots and edges across the supported panel. Flatness is checked under the specified measurement condition and support arrangement.

  3. Define the final acceptance state

We plan checks for flatness, hole positions, mating edges and appearance. Mounting datums locate narrow edge details; the drawing identifies visible faces, finish, measurement support and dimensions after treatment.

Check the panel in its agreed support condition

We locate holes and slots from the mounting datums and check panel flatness and mating-edge relationships against the drawing. It also needs to identify cosmetic faces, dimensions after finishing and the measurement records required for assembly.

Broad and thin panels

Specify overall dimensions, wall thickness and support areas, with agreed flatness and measurement support for the panel.

Slots and edge contours

Define slot positions, profiles and common datums. Agree methods for checking position and contour.

Mounting and mating faces

Specify hole patterns, face relationships, finish and masked interfaces, with final dimensions after treatment and cosmetic acceptance.

For your part, we agree the measurement method, condition after finishing, support, sampling and report format before production.
