Angled CNC turned components
The angle and offset of the threaded neck locate the connection relative to the tapered body. The mating thread and shoulder complete the definition for secondary machining.

Relate the angled neck to the body axis
The neck axis and its intersection or offset from the main axis establish the connection position. Its installed position also depends on the mating thread and locating face or shoulder.
Keep mating geometry and critical interfaces on the same controlled drawing for turning and milling review. Confirm measurement methods and acceptance limits against one datum scheme.
| Feature | Drawing requirements | Acceptance checks |
|---|---|---|
| Turned axis | Use a consistent datum axis for the central bore and outside diameters. Mark fitted and sealing surfaces, common-axis relationships and runout requirements. | Common-axis and runout requirements. |
| Angled & off-axis features | Locate milled faces and hole patterns by their position and orientation relative to the turned body. Identify any inaccessible internal details. | Position and orientation relative to the turned body. |
| Assembly interfaces | Specify mating parts, threads, port requirements, seals and mating-fit criteria. State separate leak or cleanliness checks where the application needs them. | Thread, seal and mating-fit criteria. |
Holding a turned body for an angled feature
We can locate secondary machining from the main body of the turned part. The complete model lets us position clamps clear of the angled neck and support the body without blocking the surfaces to be cut.
Agree how the angle and connection position will be checked in relation to the turned axis. If a sealing surface is required, define it separately from the thread and include its final surface condition.
5-axis milling, CNC turning and mill-turn machining.
For analytical instruments and hydraulic, automotive or rescue equipment, define the angled connection and its mating interface. Include the service conditions and required acceptance tests.
