CNC machined plastic strips with repeated holes
Repeated holes along a plastic strip need one pitch datum and support over the full length. The chosen end or center datum locates the pattern, with mounting and measurement conditions specified for the strip.

Repeated-hole pitch and the strip end references
Hole sizes, center distances and end offsets need one datum scheme. The drawing distinguishes locating holes from clearance holes and includes straightness or flatness limits where assembly requires them.
| Feature | Drawing requirements | Acceptance checks |
|---|---|---|
| Polymer & measurement state | Specify the exact grade, fillers and stock condition, service temperature, moisture, chemical contact, loads and mounting. Agree conditioning, support and measurement temperature for dimensional acceptance. | Conditioning and temperature for dimensional acceptance. |
| Repeated bore relationships | Locate each bore from common datums. Specify size, fit, depth, pitch, end relationships and relative position, with tolerance for each critical feature. No general tolerance is specified for this example. | Bore sizes, depths and relative positions. |
| Working surfaces & design limits | Dimension mating and working faces, with surface requirements, insertion loads and clamping or support constraints. Show thin walls and pockets, identifying permitted radius or thickness changes. | Support, surface and permitted-geometry criteria. |
| Stability & suitability | Define dimensional and stability criteria for the selected polymer, including support, temperature and conditioning. Specify any electrical, optical, food-contact or medical test requirements and records separately. | Include stability criteria for the selected polymer, alongside surface and dimensional acceptance. |
Supporting the length while making the hole pattern
We locate the repeated holes from the same end datum through clamping and repositioning. Support spacing and the cutting sequence must suit the stock material and hole-position limits.
State whether inspection takes place free, supported or installed. Include polymer conditioning, measurement temperature and the required positional records.
Polymer grade and strip geometry guide low-stress fixturing and heat control during CNC machining.
For instrumentation, automation and fluid-system components, control the repeated-hole pitch from a common lengthwise datum. Include the polymer grade, service environment and measurement support.

Order and release requirements
Each part number needs an approved revision, material condition, finish, release quantity and requested date, with shared interfaces and change authority identified. The order sets first-article checks, later sampling, traceability and nonconforming-part handling. Forecast demand stays separate from firm release quantities.
- Files & geometryControlling model, mating interfaces, and any permitted wall, pocket, radius or thickness changes.
- Material & destinationSelected grade and fillers, operating and measurement conditions, required validation records and delivery destination.
